Diving on La Palma: Caves, Lava and lots of colourful fishyfish
The Underwater world of La Palma reflects the recent volcanic activities on the island and offers us a broad variety of marine species.
Temperatures from 19 to 25 degree allow us to enjoy the water without getting cold. Visibility up to 50m allows us to see the famous underwater landscape.
We offer you dives at several fantastic dive spots at our house reef and day-trips to all the other spots on the island. Be sure to discover the whole variety of diving and landscapes whilst you're with us.
For your safety and comfort, all our dives are led by an experienced guide.
Diving in Los Cancajos: Our house reef
At just 50 meter distance from the Divecenter, we have the first entry to our house reef. This place has a sheltered bay, where we can offer try-dives and courses, and a huge variety of different dives once you go to the other side of the wavebreakers.
We can dive a cave, do some relaxed, colourful shallow dives or drop down to any depth. Los Cancajos has all the possibilities you need, with the comfort of coming back to the center, the hot shower, the coffee and the snacks after diving.
If you prefer to dive independent, you can just hire tanks and weights and dive on your own - but careful, orientation is a bit tricky here, and you might love to just follow a guide and enjoy what you see.
La Palma offers a broad spectrum of dive sites, and it's always worth to drive around through the volcanic landscape to visit the other spots.
Our day trips are offered according to our divers wishes and needs several times a week. We usually go out for two dives, with a reasonable surface break in between - cold drinks and snacks are on board.
We will transport your equipment and the tanks, divers usually split up in their own rental cars.
And to be sure we can drive back over the mountains, we always like to stay in one of the nice kioskos at the shore and have a decompression-drink before we drive back to Los Cancajos.
The unavoidable Paperwork
We want you to relax and enjoy your dives –but before you get wet, there is a bit of necessary paperwork to be done.
No matter if you were trained with PADI, SSI, BSAC, NAUI, CMAS or what ever organization - as long as it is a regognized diving certification, we accept it and let you dive in the limits set forth by your certifying agency. In case you forgot the card at home - no worries, if it is PADI or SSI, we can look it up online.
For your own safety, it is a good idea to get a medical check at least every 2 years. If you don't manage to get this done before your holidays, we can arrange it here - there is a recognized physician trained in hiperbaric medicine just next door.
By law, you need to prove that you have an insurance that covers the cost of a decompression chamber. Some private and travel insurances include this, please check before your holidays.
If you do not have an insurance, we can easily arrange a short-time diving insurance here at a reasonable price.
General Terms and Conditions
Just to make sure everything works nicely and we understand each other, there are some easy rules and responsabilities.
For sure, we would never charge a dive someone cancels for health reasons - but yes, we would like to charge it if someone just does not show up without telling us....
