Hiking, Mountainbiking, Paragliding, Astrotours - discover La Palma, the island for active people
When people talk about the Canary Islands they tend to discuss which of them is the best. Without any doubt - it is La Palma, la isla bonita, and not only under water.
You will land on an island which seems to be invented for any kind of dreamers, for those who love to breathe salty air and feel the sand under their feet, and enjoy the wild nature in the volcanic mountains and the incredible green of this place. People who want to stroll through small villages, find a place to eat, a place to take some deep breaths.
La Palma is an island for the individual with a commitment to responsible tourism: There are no big all-inclusive hotels, but more than enough nice places to stay. There is no competition for cheap beers, but a broad variety of small Tapas bars, international cuisine and places to enjoy your well earned time away.
Our Dive Center is located at Los Cancajos, in the east of the island, just next to the small Capital of Santa Cruz. In Los Cancajos, divers and non-diving family can enjoy La Palma at its best: Calm beaches with the typical dark sand, lovely small Tapas bars and a relaxed environment. You just slow down your rhythm and ease into your holiday.
If you feel like some sight-seeing, Santa Cruz is just a few minutes away. You can visit churches, walk through the small streets or have a look at the big Cruisers at the harbour - and if you find yourself stuck in one of the bars around the harbour, it is still easy enough to find your way back... just follow the shoreline.
We help to organise your family holidays
There are some things you must see while you are here: The observatory on Roque de los Muchachos, the volcanoes in the south, the natural pools in Charco Azul.... And you must taste the grilled goat cheese, the fried cuttlefish and the canarian potatos with "mojo", a red or green sauce.
Apart from the fact that diving is - in our opinion - the best thing to do, we can help you to arrange non-diving activities too. If you want to go on a boat trip, join a hiking tour or just rent a car - let us know, and we will arrange it for you.
Most hiking tours are better to be done in a group - you don't have to care for the transport, and you will get a lot of extra information on the way. Several guides offer a good service, one of the bigger ones is Natour.
A good thing to do on the water is a whalewatching excursion with the INIA, or a slow, nice day on the ocean on the Bussard. The team from Oceanexplorers are highly dedicated to give you an amazing experience.
If you need something more adventurous, you should spend a day in the Acropark. Just in the middle of the woods, close to El Pilar, you find a high rope course to test your nerves.
